Meulana Jelaleddin Rumi's tomb is inscribed with his own words:

La Tahzan / Don't be sad...
Because sadness rejoices in enemy, upsets your friend, lowers the tongue of envy.

La Tahzan / Don't be sad...
Because sadness does not bring you back what is lost,
does not revive death, does not change your fate, does not do any good.

La Tahzan / Don't be sad...
Because sadness gets on your nerves, tires your heart, ruins your nights.

La Tahzan / Don't be sad...
If you have sinned, repent, find your Lord,
If you have done wrong, fix it.
His mercy is eternal, His door does always open.

La Tahzan / Don't be sad...
Just remember,
if you don't live within the limits of the day you live, your anxiety will increase.
If we open up a little bit more...
Then don't wait for the evening after you are out in the morning,
And don't wait for the morning when you are in the middle of the night,
And you don't have to go back...
So live in the moment.

La Tahzan / Don't be sad...
With every hardship there is ease.
So ease is hidden in hardship.
In other words, ease is the way of hardship.
